Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, today announces another sensational line-up of vinyl for release on Record Store Day (new date – June 20, 2020), the annual music celebration happening exclusively at all participating independent retailers.

These dozentitles run the gamut from rock and metal to electric jazz, and boundary-pushingpop and hip hop from ‘90s to the ‘10s—as always, a terrific tribute to theunbelievable artistry and musicianship upon which the Sony Music catalog hasbeen built for decades.

Among themusic heard anywhere for the first time: a killer double-album of live cutsfrom Cheap Trick in 1977, and Pink Floyd’s final live performance of theirdebut single, some 40 years after its original release.

Otherhighlights include rare material from Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew-erasessions and Toto’s first-ever tour of Japan; a new vinyl edition of JudasPriest’s British Steel, one of the most influential heavy metalalbums of all time; plus rare remixes of songs by Britney Spears, TLC andDestiny’s Child.

Half acentury from its release, shockwaves from Miles Davis’Bitches Brewcontinueto reverberate throughout the universe. Leading an army of all-stars into thestudio, Miles defied all conventional styles, joining the loose ends of jazz,rock and funk into a groundbreaking new sound.This double LP release onred vinylfeatures 10 keyboard-rich recordings captured in the wake of theoriginalBitches Brewsessions from August ’69 to February ‘70with a rotating cast of luminaries including Wayne Shorter, John McLaughlin,Herbie Hanco*ck, Joe Zawinul, Chick Corea, Jack DeJohnette and much more. Withtheir second chart-topping single, Destiny’s Child began reforming pop music totheir own image, weaving in the influence of Hip-Hop and R&B and adding ahealthy helping of ladies-to-the-front energy. Two decades after it topped the BillboardHot 100, it’s being released as a collectible picture disc by CertifiedClassics, featuring remixes by Timbaland and Maurice Joshua.

Judas Priest, BritishSteel (Limited Edition 40th Anniversary Edition) (2LP)

One of Judas Priest’s most iconicand recognizable albums is celebrating its 40th anniversary. To mark thismomentous occasion, the album (along with rare bonus tracks “Red, White &Blue” and a live take on “Grinder”) is being pressed on double vinyl with thealbum artwork printed on each side.

Manic Street Preachers, LaTristesse Durera (Scream to a Sigh) (12” Vinyl)

This limited edition 12″ vinyl is inspired by a Manics promoissued in 1994. The Record Store Day exclusive features mixes of twosingles: ‘La Tristesse Durera (Scream to a Sigh)’ and ‘Roses In TheHospital’. Both tracks were taken from the band’s second album ‘GoldAgainst The Soul’ and the songs were given the remix treatment by The ChemicalBrothers (then The Dust Brothers) and Ashley Beedle.

To celebrateRecord Store Day 2020,Pink Floydwill release a live recording of theband’s first single, and original singer and songwriter Syd Barrett’sbest-known song, “Arnold Layne.”The limited-edition, one-sided RecordStore Day7” vinyl represents thelast live performance ofPinkFloydwith David Gilmour, NickMason and Richard Wright all together in 2007. This special performance of“Arnold Layne”took place at the Syd Barrett TributeConcert at The Barbican on 10 May 2007, with Pink Floyd members augmented byJon Carin (Keyboards, vocals) and Andy Bell from Oasis on bass guitar.
